City of Ottawa paramedics are wearing black ribbons on their uniforms to grieve the loss of one of their former colleagues.
Twenty-eight year old Gatineau paramedic Marie Lou Dubois was killed in a hit-and-run collision early Saturday morning on Highway 105 near Bouchette, Quebec, about 100 kilometres north of Ottawa.
She was on her way to work at the Maniwaki Paramedic Station when a man driving a stolen car drifted into oncoming traffic and slammed into her car. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Dubois recently graduated from La Cite Collégiale in Ottawa and completed some of her on-road training with the City of Ottawa Paramedic Service.
